Daily Living Support
Practical support with everyday tasks — from household routines and cooking to managing appointments and finances — delivered in a way that promotes independence rather than dependency.
We provide person-centred supported living and care for individuals with learning disabilities — helping people live independently with dignity, choice and confidence across Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire.
About Independent Support
Independent Support provides high-quality supported living and residential care for individuals with learning disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves to live with independence, dignity and genuine personal choice — and we build everything we do around that belief.
We work in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire, providing support in people's own homes and in our purpose-designed supported living properties. Whether someone needs daily living support, help building confidence, or consistent emotional care, we are here — reliably and compassionately.
Supported Living Services
Every person's needs and aspirations are different. Our support is structured around the individual — helping people build the skills, confidence and independence they need to live life on their own terms.
Practical support with everyday tasks — from household routines and cooking to managing appointments and finances — delivered in a way that promotes independence rather than dependency.
Respectful, person-centred personal care provided by trained staff who understand each individual's preferences, routines and the importance of maintaining dignity at all times.
Supporting people to take part in community life — activities, hobbies, social events and local groups — so they can enjoy full, connected and meaningful lives.
We help people develop new skills and grow their confidence at their own pace — whether that's learning to cook, travel independently, or pursue personal goals and aspirations.
Consistent, compassionate support for emotional wellbeing — building trusting relationships that help people feel safe, valued and understood in their daily lives.
Why Independent Support
We've built our reputation on doing the right thing for every individual we support. Here's what sets us apart.
Every support plan is built around the individual — their needs, their goals, their choices. There's no one-size-fits-all here.
Independently inspected and rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission — a recognition of excellence in care, staffing and outcomes.
Our team is trained, consistent and invested in the people they support. Staff are recruited around our HEART values — not just their qualifications.
We work closely with local authorities, commissioners and NHS services across Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire to deliver seamlessly coordinated support.
We actively support people to do more for themselves over time — because the goal is always greater independence, not greater reliance on us.
Our focus is on real, meaningful results — people reaching their goals, enjoying richer lives and achieving what matters to them personally.
Our Core Values
Our five values were written by the individuals we support. They guide how we recruit, how we work, and how we treat every person in our care — every single day.
We are always ready to provide practical support, guidance and encouragement — whether it's for the people we support, their families or our partners.
We listen carefully, seek to understand and respond with genuine compassion and kindness. We walk alongside people — never ahead of them.
We create an open, welcoming environment where individuals, families and professionals feel genuinely comfortable speaking to us about anything.
We value every person's dignity, individual choices, rights and unique identity — always. Respect is not occasional; it shapes every interaction we have.
We build lasting relationships through honesty, reliability and consistency. Families and individuals know they can count on us — because we are always there when we say we will be.

We work with a wide range of people — all united by the goal of helping individuals with learning disabilities live fulfilling, independent lives.
Adults with learning disabilities seeking to live as independently as possible, with the right level of support around them.
Families looking for trusted, quality care — and carers who need the reassurance of a reliable, outstanding-rated provider.
Social workers and case managers seeking a flexible, person-centred provider with a proven track record of positive outcomes.

Our Approach
We work with each person, their family and professional network to create a support plan that reflects their goals, preferences and the support they genuinely need.
Our approach always starts from the individual's own strengths — we support people to do more for themselves, not less. Independence is the goal, every time.
From hobbies and relationships to employment and learning, we help the people we support identify what matters to them and work towards achieving it.
We value strong relationships with families, social workers, health professionals and local authorities — because the best outcomes come from working closely together.
Consistency matters deeply for the people we support. We work hard to ensure the right staff are always in place, providing familiar, dependable support every day.
